“Barnes & Noble has always been committed to the communities it serves, and this year we’re proud to announce our significant donation to the Toys for Tots Foundation,” said Demos Parneros, Chief Executive Officer at Barnes & Noble, Inc. “The holiday season can be a tough time for families in need and we sincerely hope that this donation makes the holidays a little happier for those who need help.”

Barnes & Noble donated to the New York City Toys for Tots Foundation on Wednesday, December 6, with all of the products coming from the Barnes & Noble Distribution Center in Monroe, NJ. A team of Marines unloaded the truck at a base in Brooklyn, NY, where all of the products were organized to be sent out to charities and families in need across the city. “Barnes & Noble has consistently stepped up to be one of our biggest donators. This year they’ve come in with another generous contribution and it is going to make a major impact in the lives of the kids who need it most across New York City,” said Gunnery Sergeant Oura Voutthivong, Coordinator, Toys for Tots, NYC.

The Reno donation took place on Monday, December 11, with all of the products coming from the Barnes & Noble Distribution Center in Reno, NV. The Nevada National Guard and the Reno Sheriff’s Department were on hand to help the Marine Toys for Tots coordinators unload the truck and distribute the donation to families in need.  “Reno is a tight-knit community and Barnes & Noble has a big corporate footprint in this city. The people here really appreciate that this great company steps up to help underprivileged families so everyone in our city can have a gift under the tree this year,” said Ken Santor, Coordinator, Toys for Tots, Reno.
