Barnes & Noble stores have become America's information piazzas, where readers and writers meet. Each year, our Author Events Department works directly with publishers to book national touring authors for an estimated 1,500 appearances in stores across the country, featuring everyone from established writers to high profile celebrities. In addition, our stores host thousands of local authors annually which are typically arranged in coordination with publishers. These events help authors gain exposure and build their profiles in their local communities.

What makes a successful event?
Our most successful events occur when authors and publishers take an active role in promoting their appearances in our stores through mechanisms such as social media, email promotion and networking with local news media and organizations.
