Allen W. Lindstrom was appointed interim chief financial officer in October 2011.  He joined Barnes & Noble in November 2007 as vice president, corporate controller. 

Mr. Lindstrom is responsible for financial management for the company, including accounting and financial reporting, treasury, tax, risk management, vendor relations, merchandise control, audit, financial planning and analysis, and investor relations.

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Lindstrom was chief financial officer at Liberty Travel, Inc.  Previously, he was financial controller of The Museum Company, Inc. and held various director-level positions at Toys 'R' Us, Inc. 

Mr. Lindstrom started his career in public accounting and is a certified public accountant in the state of New York.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
