Barnes & Noble Selects Sandie Jones’ The Guilt Trip as August 2021 National Book Club Selection

Readers are Invited to a Free Virtual Book Club Event Featuring Sandie Jones on Tuesday, September 14

New York, NY –August 3, 2021 – Barnes & Noble, Inc., with bookstores in every state across the United States, today announced The Guilt Trip by Sandie Jones as the August 2021 selection for the Barnes & Noble Book Club, a monthly book club designed for readers across the country to discuss the most compelling books.

Barnes & Noble is selling a special, exclusive Book Club edition of The Guilt Trip as well as hosting a free LIVE virtual event on with Sandie Jones about the book on Tuesday, September 14, at 3pm Eastern Time. Registration via Eventbrite is required. Customers can purchase the exclusive edition, in-stores or online at BN.com.

The Guilt Trip is the perfect summer read, a dramatic thriller that sees three couples, a mix of friends and frenemies, heading to Portugal for one couple’s destination wedding,” said Shannon DeVito, Director of Books, Barnes & Noble. “Sandie Jones keeps the reader guessing until the end with a slow building tension that makes for a great novel. We are very excited for our Book Club Readers to dive into this twisty tale that shows the fatal danger of jumping to a conclusion.”

Barnes & Noble invites customers to join the B&N Book Club Facebook Group to share their views of the book as well as attend the virtual Book Club event next month to hear Sandie Jones.

“When I landed at LAX in 2019, I bypassed the Hollywood sign and Rodeo Drive to head straight to the Barnes & Noble store at The Grove. My excitement at seeing my first two novels, The Other Woman and The First Mistake, on the shelves was evident when I gushed, red-faced, to the lovely Maggie there that I had written them. She immediately invited me to sign all the copies that the store held and asked if I’d do a quick video interview,” said Sandie Jones. “I didn’t think the gratitude I felt could ever be surpassed, but the fabulous B&N folks have gone and done it again by selecting my new novel The Guilt Trip as their August pick! Thank you SO much. I’ll be flying out as soon as we’re allowed to with marker in hand!”

The virtual event with Sandie Jones on September 14 will be hosted on Zoom. Registration via Eventbrite is required. Before the virtual event, customers can also join in discussion at their convenience on the new B&N Book Club Facebook group and on social media via the hashtag #BNBookClub.
