“Our October Book Club selection is an uncanny, beguiling, and captivating page-turner. Caitlin Starling writes gothic horror at its finest,” said Shannon DeVito, Director of Books, Barnes & Noble. The Death of Jane Lawrence is so atmospheric that readers will find themselves lost in the night's fog; we know this is the perfect Book Club read for spooky season. We are certain readers will be as entranced by the macabre mystery and visceral dread as we were.”

Barnes & Noble invites customers to join the B&N Book Club Facebook Group to share their views of the book as well as attend the virtual Book Club event next month to hear from Caitlin Starling.

“I just wanted to thank the whole Barnes & Noble Team for making The Death of Jane Lawrence your October Book Club Pick this year. I spent a lot of time as a teenager discovering books from the Barnes & Noble shelves and hunkering down to start reading them right then and there,” said Caitlin Starling. This book is near and dear to my heart, and it means so much to me that Barnes & Noble has chosen to champion it. It's gross and weird and magical, and there were times I thought it would be too strange to ever end up on a shelf. You’ve all happily proven me wrong. I can't wait to see it in reader’s hands.”

The virtual event with Caitlin Starling on November 9 will be hosted on Zoom. Registration via Eventbrite is required. Before the virtual event, customers can also join in discussion at their convenience on the new B&N Book Club Facebook group and on social media via the hashtag #BNBookClub.
