CORAL SPRINGS – (October 4, 2021) – Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the re-opening of their location in The Walk of Coral Springs on Wednesday, October 6, 2021. The opening brings a fresh Barnes & Noble back to its home in Coral Springs after a temporary closure in February 2020.

The store is the first to be opened by Barnes & Noble in South Florida in 13 years and is one of the 6 new stores being opened by the company this fall. The bookstore enjoys a prominent position in the popular shopping center, right next to Trader Joes. The newly renovated Barnes & Noble marks a striking change in the bookseller’s appearance.  The clever design of the new store is light and airy, with large book rooms and beautiful displays of puzzles, board games and toys.

The new store will officially open to the public with a ribbon cutting by local author, Melisa Caprio at 10:00am on Wednesday, October 6. Melisa Caprio is a local author, photographer and creator of Postcards to the Universe™, A Global Movement for Manifestation .

“Barnes & Noble is so thrilled to be re-opening our new store at The Walk in Coral Springs and are excited to welcome the community into this beautiful, updated space,” says James Daunt, who became the new CEO at Barnes & Noble in September 2019.  “Karen and her team have created a beautiful new store here in South Florida, stocked with all the best books and this Fall’s wonderful new publishing. The last year has rejuvenated a love of reading in the United States and we are all delighted to welcome customers, old and new, to our store.”

Barnes & Noble empowers each individual bookselling team to curate their bookstore in a way that will best appeal to their local clientele, and an experienced team of booksellers, led by manager Karen Foster, have been busy curating a wonderful selection of books in Coral Springs. It is a completely new approach to bookselling at Barnes & Noble, bringing a respect for local knowledge that is at the heart of the best bookstores. This philosophy reflects the experience long-time bookseller, James Daunt, applies to his own independent bookstore which he opened in 1990, and the result is a selection of books and merchandise that will delight local residents. In addition to the traditional core strengths of new fiction and non-fiction hardcovers, the store has rooms organized by genres and an especially strong Children’s and YA selection.

“We are so excited to be re-opening here at The Walk. We share in the joy of all the book lovers who reached out to us during our closure to let us know how much they loved our store and wanted us to return. I want them to know that we heard them and have been rushing full speed ahead towards this re-opening” says Store Manager, Karen Foster. “Our store has been completely redesigned from top to bottom, and we can’t wait to show it off to our community. My team and I are ready to invite you in and show you around our beautiful new store.”

In addition to the grand opening with Melisa Caprio, the store has plans for additional book signings this year and is planning for bigger events such as Storytimes and Book Readings in 2022.
