Stamford, CT – May 14, 2025 – Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its Stamford, CT bookstore on Wednesday, May 14th. The new Barnes & Noble is located in High Ridge Center (1145 High Ridge Rd., Stamford, CT 06905), in the space formerly occupied by DSW.
The new Barnes & Noble will officially open to the public at 9AM EST on Wednesday the 14th, with New York Times Bestselling authors Lynne and Valarie Constantine, sister duo who write under the pen name Liv Constantine, cutting the ribbon and signing copies of their books, including The Next Mrs. Parrish.
The bookstore showcases the highly lauded design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, featuring all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller, including a B&N Café.
“For 18 years our Town Center bookstore has been a cherished third space for the Stamford community,” said James Daunt, CEO, Barnes & Noble. “We are very pleased to be adding a second Barnes & Noble to our Stamford fleet here on the north side of the city, with easy access off the Merritt Parkway. Our High Ridge booksellers, many of whom have years of experience in Town Center, are eager to welcome readers into this beautiful new Barnes & Noble.”
Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2024, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 60 new bookstores in 2025.
The Stamford location is one of three new Barnes & Noble bookstores set to open in May, alongside new stores in Ohio and Washington. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.
“We are excited to bring another Barnes & Noble to this great community,” said Store Manager Raymond Liam Fitzgerald, Barnes & Noble Bookseller of 17 years. “We’re so thankful for the support and enthusiasm of our customers and can’t wait to welcome them into their brand-new Stamford Barnes & Noble.”
