Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Farmington, CT

David Borges to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing at the Grand Opening at 10AM on Wednesday, July 29^th, 2026

Farmington, CT – July 22^nd, 2026 - Barnes & Noble is pleased to announce the opening of its new Farmington, CT bookstore on Wednesday, July 29^th. The new bookstore in Westfarms® marks the return of Barnes & Noble to the community, following the closure of the longstanding location a short distance away in May 2026.

The new Barnes & Noble will offer more than 22,000 square feet of books, toys, games, magazines, gift items, and more. The location at 155 Westfarms®, F112, Farmington CT, 06032 is in the former Forever 21 space in the mall, next to Macy’s.

Barnes & Noble Farmington will officially open to the public at 10AM eastern on Wednesday the 29^th, with local author David Borges cutting the ribbon and signing copies of his acclaimed book, UConn Basketball: An Illustrated Timeline.

This new store is the 6^th Barnes & Noble to open in Connecticut over the last three years, the most recent of which opened in Stamford in 2025 to much excitement. Barnes & Noble has opened 18 stores so far this year and is planning to open 60 stores in 2026. Barnes & Noble now boasts 716 bookstores, having been below 600 stores as recently as 2023.

Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards Members will earn double stamps on all purchases made between July 29^th and Sunday August 2^nd at the Farmington location. Customers who are not yet Members are encouraged to sign up and start earning stamps and rewards right away.

Everyone who visits the new Farmington Barnes & Noble during the grand opening will have access to exclusive deals, such as $50 off any NOOK device. Customers can also save 40% on all DVD, Blu-ray, and 4k Ultra HD movies.
