Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Denham Springs

New York, NY – July 10, 2024– Barnes & Noble is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Denham Springs bookstore on Wednesday, July 17^th. The new Barnes & Noble is located in the Juban Crossing shopping center (10129 Crossing Way, Denham Springs, LA 70726) in the space formerly occupied by Bed Bath & Beyond, between Ulta Beauty and Ross.

The bookstore will officially open to the public at 9AM CDT on Wednesday the 17^th, with author Greg Iles and school superintendent Jody Purvis cutting the ribbon. The new location showcases the highly lauded bookstore design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings, housing all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller. The bookstore will also house an updated B&N Café.

“It has been nearly two decades since we’ve opened a Barnes & Noble bookstore in this area,” said James Daunt, CEO, Barnes & Noble. “It is a very celebratory occasion that Denham Springs is one of three brand new bookstores we have set to open their doors on July 17th. We can’t wait to welcome readers into these beautifully designed new spaces, all three of which feature our customer-favorite B&N Cafés.”

Barnes & Noble is enjoying a period of tremendous growth as the strategy to hand control of each bookstore to its local booksellers has proven so successful. The bookseller is experiencing exceptionally strong sales in its existing stores and has been opening many new stores after more than 15 years of declining store numbers. In 2023, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 50 new bookstores in 2024.

The Denham Springs location is one of five new Barnes & Noble bookstores to open on in July and one of three opening on the 17^th, alongside a new location in Lake Orion, Michigan and Conroe, Texas. Each grand opening has drawn enthusiastic crowds that wrap around the building, filling the store as the ribbon is cut.

“The process of filling a bookstore from the ground up is so special, and they are foundational spaces within a community,” said Christy Casey, Store Manager. “This will be our first B&N here in Livingston Parish and there is no shortage of excitement. Our team has already begun filling our calendar with school field trips, local author events and more!”
