Zain Mahmood is the Vice President of Books and eCommerce at Barnes and Noble. He oversees the commercial strategy, buying and marketing teams. He manages across all websites including bn.com, papersource.com and Nook.

Mr. Mahmood joined Barnes and Noble in May 2024. He has been in bookselling for over 15 years, having worked for Waterstones Booksellers in the UK before taking on his role at Barnes and Noble. At Waterstones Mr. Mahmood rose from a position of bookseller to Retailer Manager for London. More recently he was both in charge of the website and buying departments at Waterstones, as Head of Commercial. Mr. Mahmood was one of The Bookseller’s Rising Stars in 2020.

Mr. Mahmood is a graduate of the University of Nottingham, where he studied English.
