Vice President of Merchandising for Specialty Products

Marnie Lawrence is the Vice President of Merchandising for Specialty Products at Barnes & Noble and Paper Source. She leads the strategic merchandising vision across non-book categories, including Toys & Games, Gift & Paper, Newsstand, and Music & Video. She also oversees the Design Team, which creates on-brand private-label products for both retailers.

Ms. Lawrence began her career at FAO Schwarz in the mid-1990s, starting as a department manager and rising to Vice President/Buyer, where she oversaw multiple product categories. She joined Barnes & Noble in 2005 to spearhead the launch of the Toys & Games category on BN.com.

Since then, she has been instrumental in the significant growth of the Toys & Games business, leading initiatives in assortment strategy, vendor partnerships, and new business development. In 2024, she was promoted to Vice President, expanding her oversight to include additional non-book categories.

Ms. Lawrence holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas.
