Barnes & Noble Opens New Store in Cary
Author Kennedy Ryan to Hold a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony and Book Signing
at the Grand Opening at 9AM on Wednesday July 5th, 2023
New York, NY – June 28, 2023 – Barnes & Noble is pleased to announce the opening of its newest North Carolina bookstore on Wednesday, July 5th. The new Barnes & Noble is in the Shoppes of Kildaire (1311 Kildaire Farm Rd, Cary, NC, 27511) in the same center as Trader Joe’s and next to ALDI. It will officially open to the public at 9AM ET on Wednesday the 5th, with author Kennedy Ryan cutting the ribbon and signing copies of her books The Kingmaker and The Rebel King.
The new location showcases the highly lauded bookstore design seen in the most recent Barnes & Noble store openings. The new bookstore is 27,000 sq ft and will feature a B&N Café, alongside all the best books, toys, games and gifts that customers have come to expect from the nation’s premier bookseller.
“We move just two miles, closing one grand old store to open a sparkling new one,” said James Daunt, CEO, Barnes & Noble. “The love this community has for books is no more evident than in the well-worn aisles of our former Cary Commons store. It is with great pleasure, then, that we remain in Cary — now in a fresh and completely redesigned bookstore.”
Barnes & Noble is experiencing a period of tremendous growth, buoyed by significant expansion of the market for physical books driven by word-of-mouth and social media recommendations. In 2022, Barnes & Noble opened more new bookstores in a single year than it had in the whole decade from 2009 to 2019. The bookseller expects to open over 30 new bookstores in 2023, with the new Cary location being the first in the area to open since 2021.
