Michael R. Rahn

Chief Financial Officer

Michael R. Rahn is Chief Financial Officer of Barnes & Noble, Inc.  He is responsible for the company’s financial functions, including accounting, audit, treasury, and corporate finance. 

 

Mr. Rahn’s career spans more than 34 years of varied experience in financial management, business leadership, and corporate strategy at Barnes & Noble.  Mr. Rahn played an integral part in the rapid expansion of Barnes & Noble's new store program overseeing financial strategies, operations and performance. In 2013 Mr. Rahn was promoted to Vice President, Controller where his responsibilities included accounting, financial reporting, merchandise control and real estate accounting.   

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Rahn worked in public accounting for Ernst & Young and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from LIU, C.W. Post in Brookville, New York.
