| Barnes & Noble Announces June “More in Store” Offers Available Only on NOOK™ |
| Get a Free Coffee Just by Reading on a NOOK or BN eReader Software-Enabled Device in Store |
New York, NY – June 7, 2010 – Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS), the world’s largest bookseller, today announced the June line-up for the “More in Store” program for NOOK™, the Barnes & Noble eBook Reader. Available only in Barnes & Noble stores and only on NOOK, the free More in Store program offers NOOK customers new, exclusive content from bestselling and new authors, special offers and savings, and weekly bestseller and new release lists.
Also starting today, Barnes & Noble is offering a free tall coffee to NOOK customers and anyone with a BN eReader software-enabled device. To participate, customers can visit their local Barnes & Noble store and simply show the café server an open eBook on a NOOK or a device using BN eReader software, including an iPad™, iPhone®, iPod touch®, BlackBerry®, HTC HD2™, and portable Windows or Mac® computer. Booksellers at the NOOK display in any Barnes & Noble store will gladly help customers download the free BN eReader software and a free sample or eBook to their computing or mobile device so that they can enjoy the promotion, available for a limited time only.
Barnes & Noble’s free in-store Wi-Fi service makes access to More in Store content easy. With just a simple tap of the NOOK “shop” button, customers can start to explore content from Dean Koontz, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain and Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner, authors of the bestselling Freakonomics, and in-store promotions including special savings and free café offers. More in Store is updated weekly and each new feature is available for four weeks on a rolling basis. Once a customer downloads the content to their NOOK, it is saved to their digital locker and can be accessed at any time.
