New York, NY – November 9, 2006 – Court TV and Barnes & Noble, Inc. (NYSE: BKS) have joined forces to promote the network’s upcoming series, Murder by the Book, featuring James Ellroy, Michael Connelly, Faye Kellerman, Jonathan Kellerman and Lisa Scottoline. The series will premiere on November 13th at 10pm, and takes viewers through the real-life cases that most captivated these best-selling mystery writers.
Court TV will implement a national TV, print, and online marketing campaign. The series will also be featured on Barnes & Noble.com (www.bn.com). Barnes & Noble.com commercials will appear on Court TV throughout the holiday season. In addition, there will be extensive placements throughout the CourtTV Web site (www.courttv.com) with links to Barnes & Noble.com (www.bn.com/murderbythebook), so visitors can purchase books written by authors appearing on Murder by the Book.
Over 500 Barnes & Noble bookstores nationwide will feature displays and posters promoting the series and its authors. On November 9th, at the Union Square Barnes & Noble in Manhattan (33 East 17th Street), all five authors will be present for a panel discussion about the series, which will be hosted by Court TV anchor Catherine Crier.

Murder by the Book, a new series premiering on Court TV on November 13th at 10PM ET/PT, brings together some of the best-known, best-selling authors of the crime and mystery genre to tell some of the most compelling true crime stories of the recent past. Award-winning authors Michael Connelly, James Ellroy, Faye Kellerman, Jonathan Kellerman and Lisa Scottoline have each selected a case that has long captivated or touched them in some way, and in each one-hour episode, the featured author will take viewers through the facts of that case. Through interviews with key players and commentary from the authors themselves, armchair detectives will have the opportunity to experience the story through the authors’ thoughts and insights.
